CAVALRY REGT 3 in North Africa

Anyone have any information about the DAK 3rd Cavalry Regiments involvement in North Africa ???

During the war no Kavallerieregiment 3 existed. It was disbanded at mobilization and formed Aufklärungs-Abteilungen 9, 15, 17 and elements of Aufklärungs-Abteilung 152, 157.

Italy had a 3rd Cavalry Regiment ("Savoia Cavalleria") but it never went to North Africa. Actually, it was not even mechanized.

Maybe you mean Aufkärungs Abteilung 3?

Hello,

AA3 certainly did serve in the DAK and Afrika, but I believe only half the regiment. Pre war they had been a cavalry regt though.
