The hairstyles seem to be very varied depending if enlisted or officers.
- Officers seemed to have very polished medium length haircuts.
- Enlisted men had long hair which barely qualify as military.
The Waffen SS seemed to have the most relaxed policy with recruits looking more like models than soldiers (long all over, like Dicaprio in Titanic).
The Heer has varied specimens :D But it seems the more you go into combat units (infantry) the more you see the classic grunt haircut (Rough Whitewalls. The german specificity is that the White wall goes almost to the top of the head, and the hair on top is still relatively long).

Here is an example of the classic German combat troop haircut (completely shaved with razor except for a long strip of hair on top)

Here is what the typical officer/dandy hair of the Wehrmacht is.

Simply cut the hairs off around the neck and the ears.
Your airs shouldnt touch the collar and the ears. The hairs on the Top can be as long as you want. Comb your hairs to the side or with some gel behind.
we call it {Almaani}; that means it is something related to germany.

I bet its all got to do with time and where your involved?

In the beginning I would assume standards were what we expect and later on
during the war with everything in chaos it would be different.

These days, American soldiers had adopted third reich hair cuts. German soldiers hair cuts were ahead of it's time.
Dear Karma: I have a wish list & you had missed it!

http://s293.photobucket.com/user/jager1 ... 1.jpg.html I really like the hair of Erich Hartmann, I don't want shaved sides, though I don't know how to ask for it. I'm naturally blond.

The German Army "look" in WWII somewhat puzzles me. While they did not have electric clippers in the field, and having long hair on top is at least good for some insulation in the winter time and it was their style, It would seem to me the presence of lice, would lend toward shorter American style "crewcuts". It is what I would have had. I got my first Army cut in 1985 and I still have it. Long hair ( touching your ears or just long on top) is simply "itchy" to me , and this does not even consider the serious lice and typhus problems the German Wehrmacht had in WWII.

Wish old HaEn was still around, I would like to know what consideration they had of the lice/typhus issue at times in respect to haircuts.

FWIIW, I am not a blond Nazi, though I am part German, I am a blond Viking , somewhat higher on the "blond list" :D .

Those "dueling scars" were often fake. Skorzeny had it too. It was considered a sign of manliness.

I found a hair product that is "Old School"... at Walmart, no less.... it's called Groom & Clean, by Suave... holds pretty good, not greasy, and is water-based, and washes out with water, AND smells great, very much "old school"...

Btw, here are a couple photos of my cut, and color... sorry for the bad photos, was trying out new phone cam...
