Prisoner exchange in Barcelona

Hi,
Just going causally over a book I found a reference of a German-Allied prisoner exchange in Barcelona/Spain the 26 of October 1943. There is a photo attached where the caption reads about the German Embassador visiting the proceedings at the harbor of Barcelona where you can see many Aussie looking soldiers waiting to embark on a transport ship with a big Swastika painted on her side.
Any clue about this?
