The book “Hitler’s Jihadis” claims this was a unit opposing Operation Bagration (more specifically around Grodno alongside 3rd SS Totenkopf) I cannot find evidence of this in any order of battles of the campaign at all.

Re: 1st East Mussulmans SS-Regiment?
“Ostmuselmannisches SS-Regiment 1” is the German name for the unit. I can’t find any evidence of it existing.
An exception is this article

Lexikon der Wehrmacht is a reliable source and it basically tells you what info is available. For te time frame you're interested in they give their sources: Rolf Michaelis, Die SS-Sturmbrigade Dirlewanger,Michaelis-Verlag Berlin. The LdW article also details - with sources - why the unit had become a liability.

Dear Texas Jäger,
You can learn a lot in the books of authors who write in Russian:
1) Искандер Гилязов, Легион "Идель-Урал", Москва 2009 [Iskander Gilyazov, Legion "Idel-Ural"] - (although a clear break in the narrative regarding the summer of 1944) 2) Сергей Дробязко, Под знаменами врага. Антисоветские формирования в составе германских вооруженных сил 1941-1945, I-Москва 2004, II-Подольск 2020 [Sergei Drobyazko, Under the banner of the enemy. Anti-Soviet formations in the German armed forces 1941-1945] 3) Олег Романько, Мусульманские легионы во Второй мировой войне, Москва 2004 [Oleg Romanko, Muslim Legions in World War II]
