More handwritten help needed

Post by Sam Wren » 18 May 2020 05:35

Here is another surname that I am unable to make out. The first name is Hans-Joachim. The last name appears to be "_öhnk_". Any help with the surname is greatly appreciated

I see Böhnke.
Note how B is written in Btl.3, and e in Magdeburg.

Thanks Greg. That is the name that I came up with too, but was thrown in doubt because the "B" did not match the "B" in "Beuvrigny" as well as the "e" in the same word (if I am transliterating it correctly).

Last two rows were not written in German script, but mostly Latin letters were used.
See also g and r are different.
Either the person stopped using German script or that was written by different person.

Hi Greg and Sam,

Böhnke, Hans-Joachim is correct, you find him on Volksbund webpage like Gfüllner, Johann.

Best regards
