Hi all,
I have visited the Bundesarchiv-Militärarchiv the last couple of days, and have found some very interesting items.
For example, a detailed listing of officers and specialists lost and missing from 22.6.1944 onwards until stabilizing the front, for all the units involved.
The number of confirmed deaths was 6 Generals, 6 Cols., 7 Lt.Cols., 21 Majors, 99 Capts., 135 1Lts. and 358 Lts.
A staggering number 18 Generals, 54 Cols., 65 Lt.Cols., 277 Majors, 887 Capts., 1149 1Lts and 3010 Lts. went missing.
Of course many of the missing officers already died somewhere, either in combat on the first days of the offensive or during many of the outbreak attempts.

Yes, I am responding to my own message...
To give you an example on how many losses divisions got, I have counted the number of officers (not included officials) of the 78. Sturm-Division, either killed, wounded or missing. No less than 376 officers are on this list. Wow. And then there are the Rückkämpfer, the ones who got lucky and were on leave et cetera.
