I found the personnel file of a relative of mine in the microfiche files at the National Archives in Maryland.
Can be downloaded here: www.yv2480.com/David/1944_Beyschlag.pdf
Can anyone help me create a chronology of the locations where he fought/was based, etc?
1944 Heer personnel file into chronology?

I'd especially like to find if he ever fought on the western front, and I can't find a clear answer.

The records you post only go to 03.1944 so there is no way to tell what happened after that. Two units mentioned Werfer-Lehr-Regiment 1 and Nebelwerfer-Abteilung 2 (mot) (might not be the correct unit), Werfer-Lehr-Regiment 1 did serve in the West from May 1944.

I infer that the personnel record does not indicate any time on the western front, is that correct?
He disappeared on the eastern front and was presumed dead.
But he reappeared in 1950, and lived in Germany until his death in the 1970s.

I believe the signature from Oberstleutnant Böhme is from 3 July 1944, so it appears he served on the western front.
Does this appear to be the case?
Before the end of the war (I don't know if it was 1944 or 1945) he disappearing on the eastern front, and was presumed dead until he reappeared in 1950.

The very last page has a Brigade-Kdr's signature dated for July 1944 - might this be Werfer-Brigade 8 which served under II.Fallschirmkorps & then LXXXIV.Armeekorps in Normandy before it was destroyed? I can not make out what the signature says or who commanded Werfer-Brigade 8 to confirm.
