Kapelle des (SA-)Feldjägerkorps

Post by Ivan Ž. » 28 Sep 2020 17:47

One of the less known political bands of the Third Reich, which was mentioned in only one topic so far, is the band of the Feldjägerkorps (SA field police). The band had two recording sessions for Electrola, in 1934 and 1935, led by Hans Krüger-Burghardt (former bandleader of SS-Standarte 44), who also composed the unit's parade march. It is unknown whether the Feldjägerkorps band was led by another conductor during its rather short existence (1933-1936).

The unit's Schellenbaum, inscribed "FJK" and "Feldjägerkorps", photographed during a police charity concert of in the Deutschlandhalle in Berlin, 1936 (a detail from this photo). At the time, the Feldjägerkorps had already been incorporated into the Schutzpolizei.

The Feldjägerkorps band after becoming a part of the Schutzpolizei (the FJK was incorporated into the Schupo in 1935). Seen in the foreground is the same Schellenbaum as pictured in the previous image (since there are no Schellenbäume visible in their SA-period photos, it's possible that it was made only after the band became a police unit). Seen on the left is the bandleader.
