Bonsoir,
He looks like a General from Bayern.
And perhaps one of these 3

General von Bothmer was commander of the 19th Army , and Army of the South.
General Prince Leoplod of Bavaria was commander of the 9th Army.
General Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria commander of the 6th Army.

Regards
Jean.

Hi Jean,

he is very much a Prussian. He is wearing the pre 1910 Prussian Gerneral Officers' embroidered Parade uniform.

Glenn

Who was the nephew of Paul von Hindenburg,a Major who commanded RIR 99 at the Somme 1st July 1916?

A Graben(trench strongpoint) was named after him near Mouquet Farm.

He had previously commanded the Garde Jäger Bataillon in the Hartmannsweilerkopf fighting of 1915.
