I just wanted to say that I think Hindenburg and Ludendorff are underrated.

What I find interesting about Hindenburg and Ludendorff is how after the war, they headed off in different political directions, yet both on the Right of the political spectrum. Any thoughts anyone? Did Ludendorff show any signs during the Great War that he was more likely to support radical right wing elements?

I think the fact the Germany lost the war made Ludendorff go on the Radical Right Wing direction. This is because people like Hitler said that the German Military had been stabbed in the back Jews and Left Wingers, this is what every General wants to hear. I also heard that Ludendorff went slightly Crazy after the war ended. Read excerpts from his memoirs.

During the war, I wouldn't know, but immediately after the war, he proposed the exact opposite solution to the problems affecting the government and the conduct of the war: give MORE power to the general staff. He also wanted to turn Germany into a modern-day version of Sparta, writ large.
