Imperial German plans for Central Asia during World War I?
Did Imperial Germany have any plans for Central Asia during World War I? Central Asia wasn't included in the Brest-Litovsk Treaty and it was sort of remote and far away from Germany and even from German-controlled Ukraine, which makes me believe that Germany was content to allow Russia to permanently keep it, but I'm wondering if anyone else here has any information and/or evidence in regards to this which I am not aware of. After all, there could have been logic in having Germany control Central Asia (and southern Russia) due to it providing a land route from Germany to China.

From recent reading the German actions in this area seemed pretty utilitarian, more about what trouble could be stirred up against the British rather than any real long term vision.Futurist wrote: ↑05 Jan 2021 22:00Did Imperial Germany have any plans for Central Asia during World War I? FWIW, I consider Afghanistan to be separate from (Russian) Central Asia.
