Bavarian Generals

Post by Robert Brockmeier » 12 Dec 2015 01:48

Although there are documents indicating Prussian and Saxon Generals of World War one does anyone have a listing of Bavarian Generals with dates of rank, z.D., or a.D. or any other pertinent info?
Thanks.

For Bavarian generals who served in World War I, the Kriegsranglisten available on Ancestry.com will have almost all pertinent information, more than you will find for most Prussian or Saxon generals, for that matter.

Thanks for the input. I just happened upon the Hathi Trust and discovered several Bavarian Lists. They are listed under 'Militär-Handbuch des Konigsreich Bayern followed by an appropriate year. The years 1909, 1911, and 1914 are available. Does anyone know if any of the other lists are available on the computer?
Any input is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. The information on the Prussianmachine website has been great. The biggest challenge is trying to find promotion dates of generals who were recalled. The Ehrenrangliste (which I have) has a very extensive list but it is a real challenge to figure out when and where they were promoted. But, life goes on! Fortunately the Saxon List is complete! Any input is appreciated. The Bavarian Rangliste seems to be the best source.

Thank you, colleagues. I hope there will be other generals as well. I was looking at http://lexikon-deutschegenerale.de/ but there were very few Bavarian generals there.
