Hilter & Lenin

Post by Csaba Becze » 21 Jan 2003 12:58

Did they meet personally in München, before the WW I? If I know correctly, they did, and Mussolini also met with Lenin. Who knows an exact source about this?

Thanks,

Csaba

I doubt they ever met. Why should Lenin have met Hitler BEFORE WWI???? Lenin was already one the maost famous Russian "dissidents", wheras Hitler still was a nobody. Why should Lenin have wanted to meet an unsuccesful painter? And why should Hitler have been interested in contacting Lenin?

Moreover, I have never heard so far that Lenin - in his second exile (1907-17) - spent some time in Munich. I know he was in Geneva, Paris, Cracow, Bern and Zürich - but Munich?

No, although he had a brief fling with communism in the confused days immediately after the war, Hitler never met Lenin.

Pity, much of my interest in Hitler is in the period prior to when he bacame prosperous... I thought you'd finally found a title for the period.

There's a link featuring a sketch from 1909 purporting to show Hitler and Lenin playing chess:
