CZ-75 (Mini-MP) / Use in the DDR ?

Post by Hans1906 » 01 Oct 2022 14:42

In a documentary about the transport of cash to the DDR during the period of reunification, East German police officers (Volkspolizei) were seen with very small submachine guns, hardly larger than a normal self-loading pistol.

Was it the Czech weapon, or a weapon, that was produced in the GDR, that would be my question..?

CZ-75 automatic (full-auto)

According to this link https://www.czforthosewhoknow.com/blog/ ... automatic/ initially developed in 1991 and produced sporadically between 1995 and 2007.

Could have been Soviet Stechkin, Czechoslovakian Skorpion or Polish PM-63?

Hi JTV,

thank you for the links, it was probably the polish "PM-63" in the documentary on the TV.

Link to the "Police History Collection" in the city of Dresden: https://sachsen.museum-digital.de/object/9743

The mini MPs in the hands of the Volkspolizei in the 1990s TV documentary were really small ! 8O

A photo of the "PM-63" in use in the DDR, and another very informative link:
