A delightfully detailed article on the Madsen "automatic gun," which appeared in The Engineer in 1916, describes the quick-change barrel of the piece.

Re: When did Madsen gun started using quick change barrel?
Finnish Army Madsen light machine guns acquired starting year 1920 and the guns did not have what would have actually been a real quick-change barrel in modern sense. Instead it was possible to open action, pull out breech & barrel assembly, replace it with another one and close action - which according manuals trained machine gun crew could do in 12 - 15 seconds.
Attached video shows removal of breech & barrel assembly, the essential part start from circa 5:45.

The following video shows the disassembly of a Model 1905 Madsen. (Start at the 46 minute point.)

As you can see, the breech and barrel assembly is not much different from that of the Portuguese (and thus post-1930) Madsen shown in the "Forgotten Weapons" video mentioned by JTV.

Here is a page from the typescript of a promotional pamphlet with an interesting description of the changing of the barrel of the Model 1918 Madsen "machine rifle." (It's from the British National Archives at Kew, MUN 5/316)
