Odd that the soldier in the background has TWO bayonets, unless one is a fighting knife.

One looks like a knife; No catch stud and apparently no metal pommel.

The part that appears to be a frog stud is what confused me. Thank you for posting the excellent photos! Sorry if I've derailed the discussion somewhat.

On the contrary, your question is very interesting. The Austrian trench knife on a frog (suspension) is very rare.
For this reason, remembering and talking about it is very entertaining. As well as the fact that trench knives were very often worn with bayonets.
On the belt, next to each other. This was common, not only in the Austro-Hungarian army, but also in other armies of the world.
For example, in the German army.

Oh yes Sturm78. They had many types of handgrenades and not all on a stick. Try a search for M15, M16, M17 models.
The M24 and M43 you know. The 39 shown with the white lines and “...gr. 39” (Nb. Hgr. 39 = nebelhandgranate) are smoke grenades. Besides these there was also the egg shaped M39 - eihandgranate. I have seen various other models in german use, but unfortunately I have no info on these yet. The M24 also came as a training version with large holes in the top metal part.

I know that the Germans had more models of grenades. I meant that I had never seen a stick grenade labelled as Gr.39

Most likely the chinese m24 copy and a propaganda picture as the bottom cap is still on the stick.
