If I am not mistaken, the MG-08 was not officially sold in foreign countries.
For sale abroad was created MG-09. In some cases, these machine guns were made under a different cartridge.
I don’t know about other differences. Outwardly, they look exactly the same. At least for me.

Yugoslavians use all Maxims 08( capture) and 09 serbian ,montenegrin , bulgarian and romanian models and calibrate to 7,92 Mauser
German sell MG08 to Bulgarians and Turks

very intriguing is the year of fabrication of bulgarian model ,1916 .
