Nice photo-thanks.
It looks more like Eastern Front.
Interesting are the stripes of masking net laying inside turntable.

Yep and just to be sure of it check out Die Deutsche Wochenschau - 1940-08-22 - Nr. 520 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VfD1FcEJYc around 18:11 there is a close up of the aiming stand with struts.
Manuferey wrote:It would mean that the way to hold the cover of the aiming stand was changed at some point and retrofitted to some existing guns.
Comparing the aiming stand schematics by Greg Heuer and Jan Wijnstok with images it almost looks like the struts were standard issue, as Heuer's drawings show two struts probably mounted to the carriage at the bottom. Wijnstok's drawings do not show mounts or struts, nor does it show the 2 distinct flanges on the door that connect the chains. While I do not have any images that support the idea of a permanent mount point for the struts (only 1 image of 919217 close up of the aiming stand but the resolution is too low), Wijnstok's lack of strut mounts is supported by photographs.

Thanks JB. A new enigma with the K5! 8-)

Let see if we can find other K5 pictures of a same gun with struts and with chains like 919 217.

This is LEOPOLD in transit in Caserta (north of Naples, Italy) on its way to the US.

Hi all,

I found these two interesting images on Ebay.
I think these are ammunition railcars for the 28cm K5 railway guns.

I think the first image is the shell wagon and the second one I would say that is the cartridges wagon....

I contacted the seller concerning all 12 of the K5 photos they have listed and the response was that all of the images came from the same photo album labeled Lublin/Belzec 1941. Ten of the photos belong to 3 groups - 4 images have the developer's stamp of 293, 2 have the stamp of 229 Winkler - Görlitz and four all share distinct marks on the edge of the developed image (most obvious a round corner). Thinking the images should be posted in a new thread...

Lublin/Belzec = Lublin/Bełżec, it is in Eastern Poland.
