DAK uniform then?
If a soldier with a DAK uniform was killed, what they did in Germany wit his wool fieldgrey "mainland" uniform? And if a soldier was alive but spent years in Africa? Where his fieldgrey uniform was taken ?

Re: DAK uniform then?
As little boys we played with the german "Tropenhelm" from the father of my childhood friend Michael, we played war, the helmet fascinated us little boys.
Michael's father was seriously ill at that time, in the early 1960s, bedridden, like very many German veterans at that time.
The man was cared for by his wife until his passing, they did not put the men in a hospital, it was just like that at that time.
We children were forbidden to play in the house, to make noise, the bedridden father was in need of rest.
The rules were strict, not to say hardcore.
Whether that hurt us kids, I don't think so, we learned respect, calm, not the very worst lesson.
