Rommel's View of Tobruk

Post by GeeGee » 04 Mar 2007 15:18

I recall seeing a film where he is talking about the conditions at Tobruk (or was it El Alamein) being worse than they were "Verdun" or some other city in the Great War.

But for the life of me I cannot recall whether it was Tobruk, Verdun or something else he was talking about. What he was saying was that the fighting and the conditions were the worst he had seen - worse than....(I think Verdun in WWI).

Anyone else know what I am talking about? What were his views?
