Post by Aszurbanipal » 16 Nov 2006 15:26

Hello

I`ve got problem with 8 Army operations since ~20 aprill 1945 to 2 may. Could You give me links to books/ web article adresses to description of operations from Portomaggiore - Ferrara - Po river - Adige - Padova to Trieste?

I`ve got many materials about american 5 Army but have problems with it`s british "right flank".

Thank You.

One of the best sources if info, albeit from a divisional POV, is the New Zealand electronic text center

description of operations from Portomaggiore - Ferrara - Po river - Adige - Padova to Trieste
This source has some info about British 8th Army and a detailed Organizational Table of units.
"15th Army Group History: 16 December 1944 - 2 May 1945", published by Battery Press, Inc., 1989.(may be ordered from Battery Press website).

I've created a webpage with excerts from this book that describes the advance across Hiway #9 near Imola for April 9-15, 1945. Here is the link:
