Hello,
I am researching 4. Batterie Heeres-Flak-Artillerie-Abteilung 307; Feldpost 09796E. I believe this unit was stationed somewhere in italy in 1944. Can anyone tell me how I can work out where this unit was stationed in July/August 1944.

Petervl,

The website below has never failed me in the 12+ years I've been using it, that is until now. I could not find any trace of Heeres Flak-Abt. 307 and that is very strange because the site is extremely detailed and comprehensive. Give it a try and see what you come up with.

As part of 14. Armee somewhere north of the line Pisa-Florence is probably the best you may find. Its records for that period are pretty scarce.

The entry for Heeres-Flakartillerie-Abt. 307 in Tessin, Volume 9, has the unit formed in Gotha (WK IX) on 28.10.1943 from four existing Heeres-Flakartillerie-Bttrn. The unit was army troops serving in Italy with 14.Armee.
