Betriebsstoff (T) - any ideas?

Post by Urmel » 26 Dec 2022 18:58

Found this in a loading list for a tanker. As it was 792 tons it must be a fairly normal type of fuel. Does anyone know?
The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41

The Me 163 used two type's of fuel "Neubetankung durch zwei verschiedene Tankfahrzeuge für C-Stoff und T-Stoff"
Maybe that is the Betriebsstoff ( T ) ?? https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Me_163

If it is a Kriegsmarine doc, it may stand for Treiböl - heavy, maritime diesel fuel. But that is only a guess.

Thanks, I think the last one makes most sense. It's a 1941 document from North Africa.
