Hi Sturm,
The license plate is bent but appears to be in the 50000-50999 range which would make it a 5 ton MAN, in this case the Type F1 H6. Nice photo BTW.

Re: Photothread: Road Vehicles of the Deutsche Reichsbahn
Hi Bert,
Is Holger correct in stating that B 1000 is the postwar designation of the L 1400 one tonner?
Cheers,
Max

Re: Photothread: Road Vehicles of the Deutsche Reichsbahn
Hi Max,
I was following the datas in the book "Vom Blitzkarren zum Großen Borgward" by Peter Michels. So the type B 1000 1 tonner was built from 1938 until 1943 and then again from 1947 until 1949. In October 1949 the B 1000 was replaced by the type B 1250 with 1 1/4 tons load capacity.
Best regards
Bert

Re: Photothread: Road Vehicles of the Deutsche Reichsbahn
Hi Max,
thanks for Your reply. The pics are made after the war. The van was built from 1949.
I have some problems with the data table.
The data don´t match with the data in Peter Michels book. The data You posted must be of another vehicle.
For comparing (first the 1tonner, then Your vehicle):
engine: 1384ccm with 33 hp - 2337ccm with 80 hp
wheelbase: 2800mm - 3380mm
length: 4580mm - 5590mm
width: 1620mm - 2030mm
weight: 1325 kg - 2000 kg
tyres: 5,50 - 20 - 7,75 - 20.
Here the data table and a drwaing of the type B 1000 out of the the book "Vom Blitzkarren zum Großen Borgward" by Peter Michels.
Best regards
Bert

Re: Photothread: Road Vehicles of the Deutsche Reichsbahn
Thanks a lot, Bert.
My table came from the sitehttps://myntransportblog.wordpress.com/ ... nd-trucks/ which unfortunately seems to be inactive these days. Perhaps it is for the postwar model B 1000Z. The captions are somewhat confusing on the page.
I also found this motor spec sheet for sale on ebay:

Re: Photothread: Road Vehicles of the Deutsche Reichsbahn
Hi Max,
very interesting. Thank You very much for posting this motor spec sheet for sale. So there were two designations for this vehicle:
B 1000 = 1tonner and L 1400 = engine of 1400cccm (exactly 1384).
Best regards
Bert

Thanks, Bert. Another mystery solved.
Now that's settled and I can get back to pondering the quiz question.

Re: Photothread: Road Vehicles of the Deutsche Reichsbahn
Hello Bert,
Thanks very much for that, it is all new to me and clears up the differing nomenclature. AFAIK I've never seen a pic of the militarized 1 tonner before, it must have been quite scarce.
