Humbolthain and Friedrichshain flak towers question

Post by paul.i.w » 16 Jul 2022 12:17

Hi - I wondered if anyone knew of a map or diagram that would show the location of the G- and L- towers of each these flak towers in the two parks today? Something like an aerial view with the towers superimposed on the map?

Thanks
Paul

Coordinates are listed here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flak_tower
Once you know where to look for, try Berlin historical maps here: http://histomapberlin.de/histomap/de/index.html
For Berlin historical aerial views you can use Google Earth maps.

Berlin - Flakturm im Humboldthain (1941-42) heute

I don't like the soundtrack, too pathetic, too heavy, but the impressions are right.
I stay away from such buildings, not only because of my fear of heights...

Berliner Flaktürme https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berliner_Flaktürme (Only in german language...)

I have an aversion to concrete, to anything underground, to crawling around, utterly impossible to go into such a bunker, a nightmare, only remotely, if at all...

Fear of claustrophobia is a complex problem, a friend of ours went crazy on Red Square in Moscow, for our friend Ralph this place was just too big...
