Salaries of an SS and Wehrmacht soldier in France in 1943.
First of all, if this topic has been created, I am sorry for starting it again, but this is really important to me.
If you are going to provide this topic with information, please state the literature you used.
Few days ago I started a fight with a man on Discord claiming that the SS soldiers in France earned 30FF per hour (in this roleplay salary is 30FF).
For the roleplay reasons it makes sense that the salaries are provided to people monthly, not hourly and certainly not 30FF per hour. Please give me some information on when did the SS Schutze and Wehrmacht Grenadier (first ranks, EM's) earned their salary and how much as well as the exchange rate in RM (Reichsmark) and today's $ (dollar) or € (euro). Thank you!

For salaries have a look here:
(1940)-viewtopic.php?f=76&t=255185&p=2319213
(1945)-https://panzerworld.com/wehrmacht-salaries
and Wehrmacht exchange rates here (1942):

Those in occupied territories received additional support payments, but I don't have any numbers for France.

Hi Guys,
This recalls a question I asked some 20 years ago on Feldgrau and 10 years ago here on AHF, neither of which got a reply.
Did Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS officers and men who were regulars in peacetime continue to get full peacetime wages during the war? Conversely, did conscripts and recalled reservists get lower pay than regulars during the war?
Cheers,
Sid.

That was already answered at the link I posted. (They received full peacetime wages + some extra).Did Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS officers and men who were regulars in peacetime continue to get full peacetime wages during the war?
Well, hard to tell as amount depended on age and number of children (for the same grade).Conversely, did conscripts and recalled reservists get lower pay than regulars during the war?
So I would say recalled reservists (mostly they had children) received more than a single 20yo conscript.

Hi Greg Singh,
Thanks.
I am still unclear whether a regular soldier or SS member, who presumably got a liveable peacetime salary, got the same in wartime as a conscript or recalled reservist, who were presumably on subsistence pay rates?
For example, if I was a regular corporal or captain, would I get the same pay in wartime as a reservist corporal or captain?
Or was there a two-tier system throughout the war, under which Wehrmacht and SS regulars got more than conscripts and reservists of the same rank?
And what of wartime volunteers? Did they get their own pay scale, or were they considered regulars?
Cheers,
Sid.
Thanks.

Thank you for the information, I did not have much success in finding the desired job especially since it is in German and the Germanic font.GregSingh wrote: ↑04 Mar 2021 05:51![]()

Taken from the booklet shown here are the subsistence allowances for the various countries.

Hi hucks216,
Very interesting.
Am I correct in thinking that the subsistence allowance was the same everywhere and this chart just converts Reichsmarks into the local currency equivalents?
Was the local cost of living not taken into account?
Cheers,
Sid.
