Hi Armin,
Happy to send you a pic but prefer to send privately so it doesn't get splashed all over the internet, however I don't seem to be able to attach anything when drafting a PM to you, is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

I would love to be able to find out where he was when in Pioneer-Lehr Battalion 1 before being sent to the Russian front
Not sure if it participated in Polish campaign.
At the start if French campaign it was assigned to XI.AK: http://niehorster.org/011_germany/40-05 ... ps_11.html

Thanks for that Greg.
Do you know if there was more than one Pioneer Lehr battalion? I found, as per attach, a ref to a Pioneer Lehr battalion on another website, this is assigned to the 18th Army but don't know if this is Battalion 1 or another battalion?

Kriegsgliederung des Feldheeres (NARA T78 Roll 404) for Feb 10th, 1941 shows only Pionier-Lehr-Bataillon 1.
In May 15th, 1941 listings, they had two - Pionier-Lehr-Bataillon 1 and Pionier-Lehr-Bataillon 2.

Thanks Greg,
That's a shame it would have been easier to determine it was his battalion if just the one.
Do you have anything on Pioneer Battalion 10 between Apr-Oct 1943?
