In search of a Map

Post by robdab » 11 May 2021 20:20

.
Gentlemen (and any Ladies present ?),

I post here to make a request which is not strictly Pearl Harbor related but rather extends Oahu wide.

Years ago, (probably 10-15) I found a map of Oahu which showed the 1941 locations of the significant highway and railroad bridges then on that island.

Sadly for me, I can no longer find it online.

It was drawn in a graphical style similar to that shown on https://history.army.mil/books/wwii/Gua ... s/map2.htm

Can anyone here indicate to me where I might find it online once again ?

Thanks in advance.

I would say that would be a No...Since the map he is looking for is Exhibit #2.

People get lost in the Hearings. I tackled them when I was fourteen. Four years later I surfaced on the other side.

I thank you for the info BUT still no luck ... I found the Report of the Army Board at http://www.ibiblio.org/pha/pha/army/chap_0.html but have yet to find any mention of it's Exhibits. A further clue please ...

Many thanks Opana ... as usual you conduct yourself as a scholar and a gentleman.

I had NO IKDEA that that volume of "extras" even existed. A gold mine of additional PH information.

Could it not be added to http://www.ibiblio.org/pha/congress/ so that other lost souls like myself can find it more easily ?

That would be redundant. Everything there is taken from the Hearings. I just pulled the cherries out.

However, I will ask the current owner of /pha to add that link. "Better told twice than never at all."

From laughter.

Considering the information was provided to Robdab some 10 years ago in the infamous Pearl Harbor thread.

Yep, multiple times, here, TankNet, and other sites where people have had to put up with his antics. Maybe the electrons disappeared at the same time his house fire burned up the stash of sekret dokuments he found that no one else ever knew about or ever found?

Thanks again Opana. As you recently pointed out, you spent 4 years wading thru those Hearings.
Most these days don't have 4 years of spare time to devote to searching those 40+ volumes.

Sadly that map is NOT the one that I'm searching for. It is cluttered and very hard to read accurately while the
one that I saw all those years ago, done in the graphical style of https://history.army.mil/books/wwii/Gua ... s/map2.htm
was very clear and easy to read.

My search continues.
