Battle of Jutland / Skagerrakschlacht (NDR website...)

Post by Hans1906 » 02 Jun 2021 12:04

Good afternoon,

Johann Heinrich in the "Forum der Wehrmacht" uploaded a nice link to the NDR (Norddeutscher Rundfunk)
about the Skagerrakschlacht. (E: Battle of Jutland)

Probably interesting for some readers here, please take a look at the other links on the bottom of the NDR website also...

Skagerrak-Schlacht: 8.500 Tote in zwei Tagen ... ht112.html

The story of Johann Wilhelm Kinau, "(Gorch Fock)" including a video documentary about the battle:
Meeresfreund mit Seekrankheit ... 94820.html

Herr Rudolf Kinau, a very famous and well known author in the low german language, he wrote his first story in the year 1916,
about his fallen older brother Johann Wilhelm, called "Gorch Fock".

He is well known by his former nickname "Rudl", an excellent author and reader of his works in the Low German language.

In this video he talked about his childhood years, probably understandable for english language forum members:

Kinnertied (Childhood years)

Es ist im Leben wichtig, viel zu wissen.
Manchmal ist es noch wichtiger, zu wissen, daß man nichts weiß.
