-Nuremberg(2000)

In addition to Saving Private Ryan (for the visuals not the lame Hollywood story) I would like to add some old time favorites:

Cross of Iron
The Longest Day
A Bridge Too Far
The Great Escape

But a few often overlooked must-sees:

The Best Years of Our Lives
Come and See
Holocaust

I have a vague memory that there's a long thread about this one somwhere, but since I haven't answered that...

Cross of Iron
Band of Brothers
Talvisota (Winter War)
Tuntematon Sotilas (Unknown Soldier - 1985 version)
Thin Red Line

I think that makes up for the top five, prone to change at a whim.

BTW, I'm eagerly awaiting for the two new Finnish movies that should come out in few years time. Does any one of the Finnish board members have any links on them. I vaguely remember that the first movie would describe the actions of a Swedish volunteer battalion and the second one would descibe battles at Taipaleenjoki - but I might be wrong, here.
