Mitsubishi G4M1: Unknown cockpit interior electric device

Post by Admiral Yi » 19 Jan 2021 22:04

Dear Gentlemen,

At the moment I'm doing a research for my future 1/48 Mitsubishi G4M1-diorama. While doing this I stumbled across a picture in the internet (Google search) depicting the backside of the co-pilot's seat with an unknown electric device.

I tried to identify it using Robert Mikesh' "Japanese Aircraft Equipment 1940-1945", "Japanese Aircraft Interiors 1940-1945" and "Japanese Cockpit Interiors Part 2". I also checked any other Japanese book about the Isshikirikko I have. The attached picture seems to be the only one showing the device.

Was it a field modification? Perhaps an intercom?

Thank you for your help. Stay healthy.

Cheers,

Kim

BTW, does anybody know where I can buy the Teknics TK4862 G4M1 Betty Cockpit-set? Thx.

You might find it listed in Air Technical Intelligence Group (ATIG) report # 277 List of Miscellaneous Electronics. I can't find a copy on-line to link to though.

Dear Mr. Gardner,

Thank you very much for your source. I'll give it a try.
