Oil drums on panzers

Hello - looking for help "decorating" my 1:76/HO/20mm model panzers. I would like to put oil drums on some of my models, but cannot find any reliable measurements (actual or scaled down) for a typical/standard oil drum one might see being carried on a panzer. Can anyone help me with measurements? Many thanks!

er...ok. do you have dimensions? does diameter 54.5cm x height 86.5cm sound right (for a life-size drum, 200L)?

The drums are to an international standard that has remained in place simply because it is so widely used.

The height is 87.6 cm the diameter is 61 cm at the chines (ridges) and 58.4 at the barrel itself.

This size is the one the British, Dutch, and US used back then. The British and US being the biggest oil producers and using English measures or Imperial measures got to decide on the size of the drums. Everybody else went along in the name of standardization. 55 gallons was the decided capacity and that drove the dimensions.

Hi,

here the dimensions of a fuel barrel Wehrmacht:
height about 89/90 cm, diameter is 58/59 cm.
