1/6 Kettenkrad RC Conversion

Post by Mark Lawson » 10 Sep 2015 10:48

The Kettenkrad RC project has been going for a few weeks it’s just waiting for some speed controllers for its first test run then on to the front end, for the track pins I used 2mm nails. The base kit comes from Dragon I wouldn’t use a built Kettenkrad to convert pulling it apart will cause too much damage.

This is the second test drive complete with the front end the suspension is fully functional but the springs are too stiff for the weight of the Kettenkrad this may change once a figure has been added.

It’s been some time since I did any work on the Kettenkrad one part that doesn’t come with the kit is the exhaust I can’t understand why Dragon didn’t include this part so as there are none on the market for sale I scratch built one using plasticard and brass, I also built a second exhaust for a friend who is also converting a Kettenkrad.

The Kettenkrad is now completed bar a few small tweaks and ready to be demonstrated at Munster next week markings are radschutz of the Panzer-Lehr regiment 130 in Normandy, the lights work though in this light the tail light is difficult to make out, I had to cut the lower part of the radfahrer legs off owing to the gearboxes.
