This art depicts the full-sized 109F rudder of Sigfried Schnell, a 93 victory Ace. 90 of his kills were scored in the Western front, including 12 four-engined bombers. Various pix show Schell with 109s and 190s. After being transferred to the Eastern front and shooting down 3 Soviet fighters, he himself was shot down and killed (Feb '44). The big scores racked up by the Luftwaffe pilots like Schnell will never be seen again.
