Renault FT-17 problem in ammo

Post by Kelvin » 23 Dec 2019 14:07

Hi, everyone, I see original FT-17 had a 37mm gun with 238 rounds and 1 x MG with 4200 rounds

But why is modified Version with MAC machine gun with 5100 rounds

Is it FT-17 had a storage of 238 rounds ? that much ?

And why modiifed Version had less ammuntion in comparsion with old FT-17 ? Thank

FT had a Armament of a 37mm SA18 OR a Mle 1914 8mm, not both.

MAC used ammunition in 150 rd drum magazines as opposed to flat strips which take less space internally to store

34x 150rd drums= 5,100 rds

175x 24 rd strips = 4,200 rds
or
140x 30 rd strips= 4,200 rds
