Very interesting!

Anyway, back to Algeria--I wonder if France in 1848 would have still annexed northern Algeria had it known that Algeria's population would explode from 2 million to over 40 million between 1848 and the 21st century? I'm assuming probably not. Or perhaps France would have expelled Algeria's entire Muslim population in such a scenario?
